The abrupt end of their conversation leaves Vince feeling a mix of emotions. He sets his phone down and takes a moment to gather his thoughts. Bitters, sensing his owner’s unease, nudges his hand with her nose, offering silent comfort.
As Vince sits in his quiet living room, he reflects on the whirlwind of emotions stirred up by Emma’s call. Memories flood his mind — the shared laughter, the tender moments, and the painful goodbyes. Despite the passing months and the distance between them, it’s clear that their connection still holds a powerful sway over both of them.
After a moment of contemplation, Vince decides to take Bitters for a walk to clear his head. As they stroll through the serene Montana landscape, Vince finds himself lost in thought, grappling with the weight of his feelings for Emma and the uncertainty of their future.
Meanwhile, Emma sits on her porch overlooking the Rhode Island coastline, her mind buzzing with thoughts of Vince. She replays their conversation in her head, feeling a mixture of hope and trepidation. Despite Vince’s hesitance to revisit their past, Emma can’t shake the feeling that their story is far from over.
As the sun begins to set, casting a warm glow over the horizon, Vince and Emma find themselves drawn back to their respective homes, each grappling with the complexities of love and longing.
That’s when Emma gets up and begins packing her suitcase. After making a few phone calls and arranging a flight she realizes she missed a few calls from Vince but decides this will be better.
Vince wakes up early to grab coffee and run errands. As he pulls up to his driveway he notices a car parked out front. When he gets out he sees her.
Emma practically runs to Vince the moment she gets out of the car.
“We belong together, Vince,” Emma says, her voice filled with certainty. “And this time, we’re not letting anything or anyone come between us.”
Vince nods, his heart overflowing with joy.
“I couldn’t agree more, Emma,” he replies, a smile spreading across his face. “I’ll do whatever it takes to make things right between us.”
…
9 months later
The sun casts a warm glow over Vince and Emma as they stand hand in hand beneath a rustic wooden arch adorned with delicate white flowers. Surrounded by their friends as well as Scotch and Bitters, they exchange heartfelt vows.
As they say “I do,” the gentle breeze carries the sound of laughter and joy through the air, mingling with the sweet melodies of a string quartet playing in the background. Emma’s eyes shimmer with tears of happiness, and Vince’s smile radiates with pure love as they lean in for their last first kiss.
